De Leon Hospital is licensed by the Texas Department of Health.  The hospital is also certified by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (Medicare).

De Leon Hospital began business in 1953.  The De Leon Hospital District assumed ownership of De Leon Hospital on April 1, 1975.  A 5 member Board of Directors elected for two-year terms govern the hospital.  The hospital is an acute care facility that is licensed for 25 beds.

De Leon Hospital is located at 407 S. Texas, De Leon, Texas.  De Leon is located on Highway 16 approximately 90 miles southwest of Fort Worth and 90 miles southeast of Abilene.

The mission of the De Leon Hospital is to be the community health institution by:

  1. Offering a level of quality in both inpatient and outpatient services consistent with the size and scope of the hospital's facilities and staff.
  2. Developing and conducting health education services for the staff and community.
  3. Promoting health in our community.
  4. Functioning in a cost-effective manner, to the benefit of the taxpayers of the De Leon Hospital District and serving to enhance and support community development efforts.
